04/26/2007: "Lesson about riding your bike.."

Last night I was going on my long run along the canal when I came across a guy lying on the ground by his bicycle and another guy standing over him who had stopped to see what happened. The victim was riding his bike while towing his 2 Labradors along with a leash. Something spooked the dogs and they pulled him to the ground. He could not move his shoulder and was a bit disoriented. The shoulder hurt to touch so something was wrong there.

He used the other guy’s cell phone to call someone to pick him up. We took his bike and dogs 1/4 to the parking lot. He was very grateful we helped but while I was jogging home I started thinking about how crazy it is to ride a bike and try to control 2 dogs on leashes. Thankfully they did not pull him into the canal. hehe.
